Trump on early voting in Arizona: 'Go vote the minute the polls open'

As early voting opens in Arizona this week, former President Trump encouraged voters to go to the polls “the minute” they open.

In a Sunday night Truth Social post, the former president posted several photos of supportive crowds.

“Early voting by mail and in-person opened in Arizona earlier this week—so if you have a ballot, return it immediately, and if not, GO VOTE the minute the polls open tomorrow, and get everyone you know to cast their ballots for Trump and Republicans at every level!” he wrote in a caption.

It was inspired by a quote from Trump’s weekend rally in Arizona, where he called on people to “get [their] you-know-what up and vote.”

Trump in the post also attached a link to Swamp the Vote USA, a GOP organization with information and links for voters to request ballots, register to vote and more.

Trump’s embrace of early voting comes amid a larger wave of GOP support for it. Previously, Republican leaders showed skepticism about early voting and absentee ballots, but now the party is encouraging potential and registered voters to make up ground ahead of Election Day in November.

Earlier this year, the Republican National Committee (RNC) announced a “Protect the Vote Tour” program to mobilize poll workers, poll watchers and legal experts.

“Our efforts to Swamp the Vote and Protect the Vote go hand-in-hand,” RNC spokesperson Anna Kelly previously said in a statement. “In order to ensure that Americans feel confident casting their ballot, whether it’s by mail, early in-person, or on Election Day, we must Protect the Vote and ensure commonsense election integrity measures across the country.”
