Lesson summary
This A1 correction practice lesson focuses on possession in Italian. The key idea is how to say that something belongs to someone using di and the basic possessive adjectives mio, tuo, suo, nostro.

Word-by-word explanation
- di (dee) = of / belonging to
Used in short patterns like È di Anna. This means “It belongs to Anna.”
- mio (mee-oh) = my
Example form: il mio libro (eel mee-oh lee-bro) = my book.
- tuo (two-oh) = your
Example form: la tua borsa (lah two-ah bor-sah) = your bag.
- suo (swoo-oh) = his / her / their
Example form: il suo zaino (eel swoo-oh dzai-no) = his/her backpack.
- nostro (nos-tro) = our
Example form: il nostro tavolo (eel nos-tro tah-vo-lo) = our table.

Word readings / pronunciation
These readings are approximate and meant for beginners.
- di = dee
- mio = mee-oh
- tuo = two-oh
- suo = swoo-oh
- nostro = nos-tro

Sentence-by-sentence explanation
1) È di Luca. (eh dee loo-kah) = It is Luca’s.
This is the shortest and most natural correction pattern for possession.
2) È il mio quaderno. (eh eel mee-oh kwa-dehr-no) = It is my notebook.
Use il mio before a masculine singular noun.
3) È la tua borsa. (eh lah two-ah bor-sah) = It is your bag.
Use la tua before a feminine singular noun.
4) È il suo zaino. (eh eel swoo-oh dzai-no) = It is his/her backpack.
suo can refer to he, she, or they depending on context.
5) È il nostro tavolo. (eh eel nos-tro tah-vo-lo) = It is our table.
nostro matches the noun it describes.

Natural usage notes
- In Italian, possessive adjectives usually come before the noun: il mio libro, la tua borsa.
- The possessive must agree with the noun’s gender and number, not with the owner.
- In many cases, Italian uses di + name instead of a possessive adjective, especially in short correction-style sentences.

Common mistake notes
- Wrong: È di mio libro.
Correct: È il mio libro.
- Wrong: È la tuo borsa.
Correct: È la tua borsa.
- Remember: you need both the article and the possessive in most A1 sentences.

Mini practice instructions
Try to complete or correct these sentences:

Ejemplo: il mio libro (il mio li-bro) = mi cuaderno/libro.
- tuo (tuo) = tu / tuyo
Ejemplo: la tua borsa (la tua bor-sa) = tu bolsa.

Lectura / pronunciación
Pronunciaciones aproximadas:
- di = di
- mio = mio
- tuo = tuo
- suo = suo
- nostro = nóstro

Explicación frase por frase
1) È di Luca. (e di lu-ka) = Es de Luca.
Es un patrón corto y natural para indicar pertenencia.
2) È il mio quaderno. (e il mio kwa-der-no) = Es mi cuaderno.
Usamos il mio con un sustantivo masculino singular.
3) È la tua borsa. (e la tua bor-sa) = Es tu bolsa.

nostro cambia según el sustantivo.

Notas de uso natural
- En italiano, el posesivo normalmente va antes del sustantivo: il mio libro, la tua borsa.

- En frases cortas de corrección, di + nombre es muy común.

Errores comunes
- Incorrecto: È di mio libro.

Wort-für-Wort-Erklärung
- di (di) = von, zu, gehört zu
Wird in kurzen Mustern benutzt: È di Anna. = Es gehört Anna.

- tuo (tu-o) = dein
Beispiel: la tua borsa (la tu-a bor-sa) = deine Tasche.
- suo (su-o) = sein / ihr / ihr(e)

- nostro = nos-tro

Satz-für-Satz-Erklärung
1) È di Luca. (e di lu-ka) = Es gehört Luca.
Das ist ein sehr kurzer und natürlicher Besitzsatz.
2) È il mio quaderno. (e il mi-o kwa-der-no) = Es ist mein Heft.
