In this lesson, you will practice simple place words and short location sentences. This is useful when you speak to someone in town, at school, or in a building. You will learn how to ask where a place is and how to answer with a very short sentence.

1. corner — KOR-ner — the place where two streets meet
2. opposite — OP-uh-zit — across from something
3. next — NEKST — very close; beside
4. behind — be-HYND — at the back of something
5. between — bi-TWEEN — in the middle of two things
5 example sentences:
1. Excuse me, where is the library?
Reading: ik-SKYOOS mee, wehr iz thuh LY-brer-ee?
Use: A polite question for asking about a place.
2. It is opposite the park.
Reading: it iz OP-uh-zit thuh PARK.
Use: A short answer for location.
3. The café is next to the bank.
Reading: thuh kah-FAY iz NEKST too thuh BANK.
Use: Use next to for places beside each other.
4. The school is behind the museum.
