Topic: Question and correction practice with do / does
Lesson overview:
In this lesson, we practice correct English questions and answers with do and does. This is a very common A1 grammar point. We also review a little from the last lessons: you can ask questions with a question word, and you can make short answers with be and have/has patterns. Today, the new focus is do / does in simple present questions.
5 useful words:
1) do — reading: doo — meaning: ask / make
2) does — reading: duhz — meaning: asks / makes
3) like — reading: layk — meaning: enjoy
4) tea — reading: tee — meaning: hot drink
5) coffee — reading: kaw-fee — meaning: black drink
Usage notes:
- Use do with I, you, we, they.
- Use does with he, she, it.
- In questions, the main verb stays in the base form: Do you like tea?
- With he / she / it in statements, add -s: She likes coffee.
