1. mother — MUH-ther — mom
Meaning: female parent
Usage note: Mother is formal; mom is more informal.
2. father — FAH-ther — dad
Meaning: male parent
Usage note: Father is formal; dad is more informal.
3. sister — SIS-ter
Meaning: female sibling
Usage note: Use for your sister.
4. brother — BRUH-thur
Meaning: male sibling
Usage note: Use for your brother.
