Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), former President Trump's running mate, is rallying voters in the battleground state of Georgia Friday afternoon.
The Trump campaign canceled two events in the state earlier this week after Hurricane Helene hit the southeastern U.S. with dangerous wind, deadly flooding and power outages affecting millions. Trump will also be in Georgia Friday, touring storm damage alongside Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R).
The rally also comes just days after Vance and his Democratic counterpart, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, went head-to-head in a debate hosted by CBS News.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ's polling index shows Trump and Vice President Harris locked in a tight race in the Peach State. The former president has a slight lead on Harris, with 48.3 percent support to her 47.6 percent.
Vance's remarks in Lindale, Ga., are expected to begin at 1 p.m. EDT.
