Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) is adding some pigskin to his campaign trail schedule, heading to Saturday's football game between the University of Minnesota and the University of Michigan.

Vice President Harris's running mate will attend the game in Ann Arbor, Mich., between the two Big Ten teams, the Harris-Walz campaign confirmed to The Hill on Wednesday.

The 12th-ranked Wolverines are 9.5-point favorites, according to ESPN, over the visiting Golden Gophers, who are unranked.

Walz, 60, is a former high school football coach who helped lead his team to a state championship.

The vice-presidential candidate isn't the only White House hopeful who's poised to catch some football this weekend. Former President Trump is expected to join the crowds at the University of Alabama's marquee game against the University of Georgia on Saturday. Trump received an invitation from a "private citizen," according to the University of Alabama.

That matchup, between the No. 2 and No. 4 teams in the country, has significant implications for the college football playoffs. Between them, Georgia and Alabama have won three of the four most recent national championships.
