Trump holds 3-point lead over Harris in Arizona survey

Former President Trump is leading Vice President Harris in Arizona by 3 points, according to a new poll.

The Emerson College Polling/RealClearWorld survey, published Wednesday, Trump has an edge over Harris in the Grand Canyon State, garnering 50 percent support to the vice president's 47.2 percent. About 2 percent of voters are undecided, but a majority of them say they lean toward the GOP nominee.

Regardless of who Arizona voters support for the upcoming election, views are roughly split on who they think will win in November. Nearly half, 49.8 percent, believe Trump will be victorious in November while 49.1 percent said the same about Harris, according to the survey.

Arizona, with 11 Electoral College votes, is a key battleground state that both campaigns are looking to secure. In the 2020 presidential election, the state voted to elect President Biden by less than 11,000 votes.

Trump went on to challenge the election results in the state and election-related conspiracies have impacted Arizona’s election systems since.

The race was seen as one of the closest in the country four years ago and it’s shaping up to have similar results between Harris and Trump.

According to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, Trump has a 1.2 percent lead over Harris in the state — 49.2 percent to 48 percent — based on an aggregation of polls.

Harris is out-performing Trump in other swing states, but with a recent visit to Arizona and the country’s southern border, she’s hoping to appeal to those in the state who are concerned about immigration. The former president has pressed her on the issue, even calling his Democratic opponent "the architect of this destruction" following her border trip.

The Emerson College survey was conducted Sept. 27-28 among 920 likely Arizona voters and has a margin of error of 3.2 percentage points.
