Former President Obama will ramp up his campaigning for Vice President Harris in the battleground states of Michigan and Wisconsin next week.

Obama plans to make stops in Detroit and Madison, Wis., next Tuesday in a push for Democrats to vote early, according to Harris's team.

Early voting in Detroit, a stronghold for Democrats, will begin on Oct. 19, a few days before Obama's visit to the Motor City. Early voting in Wisconsin starts Oct. 22.

Harris plans to canvas in Wisconsin this week during a string of events Thursday in Green Bay, La Crosse and Milwaukee followed by a trip to Grand Rapids, Mich., on Friday.

The Democratic nominee is trailing former President Trump by a thin margin in both states.

Trump leads by 0.7 percentage points in Michigan and 0.4 percentage points in Wisconsin, according to The Hill and Decision Desk HQ's polling index.

Obama hosted a $4 million Los Angeles fundraiser for Harris last month and held a rally for her in Pittsburgh targeting Black male voters last week.

First lady Jill Biden also campaigned for the Democratic nominee in Arizona this month, while former first lady Michelle Obama will headline a get-out-the-vote rally in Atlanta later this month.

Trump, meanwhile, plans to host a rally in Detroit on Friday and another in battleground state Pennsylvania on Saturday. Next week, he’ll make stops in Georgia and New York.
