Meehan says Trump will ‘absolutely not’ win popular vote

Michael Meehan, the CEO of Squared Communications, said Sunday he believes former President Trump will “absolutely not” win the popular vote.

Meehan, a Democrat, was asked by host Chris Stirewalt about Trump’s standing in the polls, which show a close race but good signs for Vice President Harris, and if Trump may surprise pollsters in the election.

“Do you really think it’s likely, though, that Donald Trump is going to win a national popular vote majority?” Stirewalt asked.

“Absolutely not,” Meehan responded. “He totally has a ceiling, and he is right at it.”

According to recent polling, with just under 40 days until the election, Harris is holding a 7-point lead over Trump nationally and is narrowly beating him in 6 key battleground states.

While pollsters still caution the race is close, Meehan argued that the former president is “polling better than he’s running.”

According to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, Harris holds a 4.2 percent lead over Trump based on an aggregation of polls.
