Lara Trump dismisses change candidate polling, citing 'beverage napkins'

Republican National Committee (RNC) co-chair Lara Trump dismissed polling showing that more voters view Vice President Harris as the presidential candidate representing change, citing "beverage napkins" she's received on airplanes expressing support for former President Trump as proof.

The polling, conducted by The New York Times and Siena College, showed that when respondents were asked which candidate "represents change," 46 percent said Harris while 44 percent said Trump. Two percent said both, four percent said neither and four percent said they didn't know or refused to answer.

"Well I don't believe that poll at all. And by the way, don't take my word for it, take Joe Biden's word for it because he's the one that told us the other day, Laura, that Kamala Harris is in there side-by-side with him making all the decisions, of course, that we've seen in that White House," Lara Trump told Laura Ingraham in an interview on Fox News on Tuesday.

"No one believes that there will be any sort of change with Kamala Harris," added the former president's daughter-in-law.

She added that the group of supporters at Trump's rally in Butler, Pa. over the weekend was "the biggest crowd [she's] ever seen at a Trump rally."

Lara Trump also questioned Harris's ability to be "commander-in-chief."

"No one buys that Kamala Harris has the capability to do that job. And polls like that, I think, are absolutely ridiculous," she said.

"I get slipped beverage napkins every time I get on an airplane, saying 'We can't wait to vote for Trump,' 'Go Trump,' 'Trump 2024,' or people just coming up to me these days, Laura, everywhere I go saying how excited they are to get out and vote — and vote early, when you go vote — for Donald Trump," Lara Trump added.
