Vice President Harris leads former President Trump by 2 points in the latest national poll released by Fox News.

Harris receives 50 percent of support nationally in the poll, published Wednesday, compared to Trump’s 48 percent support. That marks a 3-point change from early August, when the former president held a 1-point advantage over the Democratic nominee, 50 percent to 49 percent.

The latest survey also marks the first time Harris has reached the 50-percent support threshold.

Fox News's pollsters noted that the largest change since last month comes from independent and Hispanic voters.

Trump maintained an 8-point lead, 51 percent to 43 percent, among independent voters in the August poll, but they now support Harris by 12 points, 51 percent to 39 percent. Hispanic voters similarly backed the GOP nominee by 6 points last month, 52 percent to 46 percent, but now back Harris by 12 points, 55 percent to Trump’s 43 percent.

The former president, however, leads Harris in the key battleground states, which are more consequential to determining the outcome of the 2024 election than the national popular vote.

In the combined battleground states — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — Trump leads the vice president by 2 points, 50 percent to 48 percent, according to the poll.

In The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s national polling average, Harris is ahead by 3.6 points, 49.7 percent to her Repujblican rival's 46.1 percent.

The poll was conducted Sept. 13-16 among 1,102 registered voters nationally, including 876 likely voters. The margin of error is 3 percentage points for results based on both the full sample and the subsample of likely voters.
