Biden to tout policies in Climate Week speech

President Biden is expected to tout the progress his administration has made on climate change in remarks in New York City this week, as the issue remains an area of stark contrast between Democrats and Republicans

Biden will deliver remarks at Climate Week in New York City on Tuesday at the Bloomberg Global Business Forum.

A White House fact sheet said the speech will focus on the administration’s “unprecedented progress in tackling the climate crisis, cutting energy costs for everyday Americans, and creating good-paying union jobs.”

The White House did not say whether Biden will talk about former President Trump, who has falsely claimed that climate change is a hoax and rolled back numerous environmental regulations during his own time in office.

Biden, meanwhile, has implemented regulations, including on cars and power plants, that aim to combat climate change. He also signed the Inflation Reduction Act, which included billions of dollars in tax credits for climate-friendly energy sources.

While the Biden administration has taken significant action to combat climate change, the president has faced some scrutiny on the issue from progressives who have disagreed with the approval of fossil fuel projects.
